A painting from Kacey, yes it is!. Is is a large acrylic painting, 45″H x 43″W. Painting with acrylic has a useful aspect. When your brush is dipped into several colors, they remain separate on the canvas. Oil paint melds, it blends beautifully. These attributes are neither good nor bad – just different.

Foundry Art Centre, Global Impact – Wake of COVID, Hands
Due to COVID 19 we must wash our hands more often and more thoroughly, we must be conscious of keeping them clean and COVID free. What a chore! And it is a scary time.
Stuck at home? Or we can use our hands to make opportunities to do projects that have been put off until we have more time, call friends we have not talked to for a while and create spaces where it is safe to visit in person.
The Foundry Art Centre in St. Charles, MO has produced an exhibit addressing this frustrating issue.
Las Laguna Gallery, A Light in the Darkness, Surveillance from Observation Series
What the internet can do for us! Opportunities are just about anywhere.
Studio Channel Islands, The Next Big Thing 2020, God of Ferocious Winds
In 2017, I saw Kozo paper artwork for the first time. Betsy Roe sent her work with small coyote sculptures and a curly background, all made of Kozo paper.
In 2018, Missouri Fiber Artists talked her into giving us a workshop at the MoFA Conference. In three hours she taught us the basics. And she gave us some of the material to take home. A series of Gods and Goddesses of the Winds is my result. Thank you Betsy.
World Chess Hall of Fame, Featured Chess Set, Travel Chess Set
August is Bell Pepper month, appropriate timing for Travel Chess Set to be the Featured Set at the WCHOF – not sure how to pronounce that. We call it the Chess Museum, a small gem in the West End neighborhood of St. Louis.
Viridian Gallery, 28th St, NYC, Silhouette
One hit wonder to have work in a New York City gallery – who knows – but I am thrilled! Viridian Gallery was posted on our MoFA Facebook page. So I gave it a try. Silhouette is in their virtual exhibit, Sanguine Expectations. Additional pieces of my work are on their artist’s page.

Look closely to see silk thread weaving and micro crochet.
Levi Sherman is the juror for this exhibit. Perhaps we can hear him speak at the Foundry. Context III runs through June 19. Maybe we will be out of quarantine?
