Surface Design Association staged their 2019 Conference in St. Louis, MO. The Guild was a center of their activities. A magnificent juried exhibit was held there.
In order for Guild Members to participate, they were invited to enter “On the Surface on the Ramp”. Luanne Rimel juried approximately 50 fiber art works, featuring surface design. On October 2, 2019, she gave a juror’s talk, and spoke about each and every piece. Thank you Luanne.
“Infected”, the fiber art piece here, was selected for the Ladue News, Art and Soul feature. In their January 4, 2019 issue it was nearly a full page picture. My bio was right there too. Many thanks to Brian Hollerbach of Ladue News! He tells me it is his genuine pleasure and honor, through Art and Soul, to introduce their tens of thousands of readers to talented visual artists in the metro area.
Simultaneously, “Infected” was accepted into the Saint Louis Artists’ Guild’s exhibit, Ann Metzger National Biennial Exhibition. This is always a very competitive show. I was very pleased to have my work accepted. Thank you to the juror, Sarah Klemm.
“Infected” 74″H x 58″W, was inspired by the state of our environment. Its allusion to land and seascapes, blemished by invasive material, brought to my mind, how we misuse our planet.
