Split Personalities was inspired by the soft sculptures of Claes Oldenberg. I am sure Claes is excited about the frolicking human brain too.
Ice dying is easy and the results are fantastic – usually. The results can be steered, however they cannot be controlled. Ice melt meanders at its whim. Actually, results have been good for me, maybe luck? Or maybe it is the willingness to accept a wide range of intriguing colors.
Kacey Cowdery has two pieces selected, 531 items were entered, 96 accepted – thank you! It is a magnificent show, and a great kick-off for the 1st Annual Fiber Art Exhibit at the Kansas City Stockyards Gallery.

In 2017, I saw Kozo paper artwork for the first time. Betsy Roe sent her work with small coyote sculptures and a curly background, all made of Kozo paper.
In 2018, Missouri Fiber Artists talked her into giving us a workshop at the MoFA Conference. In three hours she taught us the basics. And she gave us some of the material to take home. A series of Gods and Goddesses of the Winds is my result. Thank you Betsy.
August is Bell Pepper month, appropriate timing for Travel Chess Set to be the Featured Set at the WCHOF – not sure how to pronounce that. We call it the Chess Museum, a small gem in the West End neighborhood of St. Louis.
Today is the day, June 19, Saint Louis Artists’ Guild has opened its doors to “Clearly Human IV”. This exhibit has been waiting to open – come take a look. Hours are on the website.
Kacey Cowdery’s fiber art wearable is shown in this all media show. Fiber art is making inroads!
Annually Webster Arts presents their Open Theme exhibit. Fiber Art in these shows is unusual. Go fiber artists!
